Thrift Share Monday – Juicetastic, baby!

Finally! Something to report!

We were bopping through the thrift store this weekend and the guy stumbled across this gorgeous piece of machinery:

Juicer!

The Omega Juicer 1000!!! Less than $10! I did a little happy dance! It was missing the food plunger but it made a pretty whirring noise when we plugged it in at the store so it came home with us (along with a box of fruits and veggies from the produce outlet). After we got it cleaned up it looked like brand new.

So we turned this….

Juicing!

into this…

Juice!

Ew, I know, gross looking, right?!?! But it was yummy! I can see how people get all fanatic about juicing once they’ve tried it. I’ve always wanted a juicer so I’m super-excited to have one to play around with now.

We improvised on the food plunger and used some wooden utensils.

Sharpened utensils

Oops.

While I appreciate the extra fiber I think we’re going to need to get the plunger. Luckily they still make them and they’re only $6. Since these things retail for around $200 new I think that’s a pretty fair deal. =)

I have no idea what I am going to do with this (toddler + breakables…uh…no) but I am in love with carnival glass these days. I don’t know a whole lot about it but the swirly, shiny colors really make me happy.

Cute stripey Gap button down in perfect shape and a Lucky Brand super-soft flannel. I love the pearl snaps and yoke detail!

Found these...

...and found these...

I also found these cool Gap jeans. They’re a size up (as is the Lucky flannel), but I try to grab things when I see them if I think they’ll be in season. Especially when they’re below my target price for clothes — I only spent about $7 total for these three.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been thrifting just for the fun of it. I’ve just been taking a quick peek through the clothes and books and calling it a day. So it was kind of relaxing to be able to take my time and look at stuff. And now that I’ve done this post I’m not sure if I feel like bothering with the photographing and posting…maybe I’ll just save it for the really cool stuff? Or the project stuff?

Hrm.

I do still love seeing what everyone else has found though. =)
